UPDATED:

M.T.C. Boxing Club offers two full-size boxing rings, rows of heavy bags, medicine balls, speed bags, jump ropes, boxing gloves and headgear.

Most are worn and in need of repair or replacement.

Because of the San Bernardino club’s financial hardships, it’s now reaching out to the community for help. The club is seeking donations to pay for new boxing equipment, travel expenses to tournaments and for promoting the club.

M.T.C. Boxing Club — whose name refers to More Than Conquerors — is hosting a fundraising boxing show at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Victory Outreach, 990 W. Mill St., San Bernardino.

It has scheduled 23 amateur bouts with youths and adults on the fight card. Admission is $15; children under 5 are free. Food and soft drinks can be purchased.

The club offers boys and girls 9 and older a safe place to build self-esteem, discipline, communication skills and confidence while learning the art of boxing.
