The League of Women Voters of the San Bernardino Area is seeking nominations for its Citizens of Achievement awards.

The awards honor individuals and organizations who are making a difference in the community, and the League of Women Voters of the San Bernardino Area has been presenting the awards since 1975, according to a news release.

The League of Women Voters will recognize this year’s Citizens of Achievement at a reception to be held Oct. 6 at the Sterling Natural Resource Center in San  Bernardino.

Nomination deadline is Aug. 23.

The League of Women Voters, formed from the movement for women’s suffrage, has more than 800 state and local leagues in all 50 states and in the District of Columbia, the Virgin islands and Hong Kong, according to the news release.
