San Bernardino police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday afternoon, May 3, by one of their officers.
The confrontation happened around 4:30 p.m. in the area of 9th Street and Waterman Avenue, said Sgt. Christopher Gray, a department spokesman.
The suspect was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening, Gray said.
Gray did not say what the suspect was wanted for or why the officer fired. He said more information likely would be made available on Tuesday.
