Akiko was a long-time resident of Moreno Valley/ Sunnymead. She was married for 62 years to her wonderful and loving husband, Norman Lostbom, who passed away in 2016.Akiko and Norman lived in Japan and Germany while Norman served in the USAF. They moved to the USA in 1964 with their three young children.Akiko and Norman were a constant source of love and support to their 3 grandchildren.Akiko moved to North Carolina with her husband in 2003. They enjoyed the new scenery of Asheville, NC, and the beautiful change of seasons.After her husband’s passing, Akiko lived with her daughter, Audrey and her loving, wonderful son-in-law, Preston in North Carolina. They traveled many places together, including a beautiful trip to Japan in 2017 where Akiko enjoyed a wonderful family reunion with her older sister and four generations of family.Akiko’s friends in NC bid a fond farewell to their dear friend.Akiko was a loving mother who sewed beautiful dresses for her daughters. She was a great cook and made delicious Japanese dinners on New Year’s Eve for her family and friends. Akiko enjoyed flower arranging as well and won many ribbons for her beautiful arrangements. Akiko was youthful inside and out. No one could believe her age. She was beautiful.Rest in Peace, dear mom
