James Thomas Hallum OBITUARY

Tom Hallum, 90, of Cherry Valley, CA, died Friday, April 12th at 11:45 pm of natural causes. He was born in Pleasant Grove, Mississippi on May 20, 1933. He was a Veteran as an Air Force policeman serving during the Korean War. Hallum was voted in as City Treasurer for Rialto in 1988 and served for several years. In addition, he was active in the Kiwanis Club of Rialto and active in community service in Rialto and for San Bernardino County. He became a tax accountant and owned Hallum’s Tax Service in Rialto. He traveled extensively, rode a motorcycle, played golf, competed in the L.A. Marathon, and he especially enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with friends and family. Family survivors include two sons, Kevin Thomas Hallum of Highland and Thomas Wesley Hallum of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; one daughter, Katherine Thomerson Bird of Fortville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Brad Manning of Santa Rosa, CA, Jeff Manning of Fishers, Indiana, Thomas Wesley Hallum, Jr. of Germany, Summer Golden of La Jolla, CA and Dylan Thomas Hallum of Highland, CA; and six great-grandchildren, Trinity and Cael Manning of Indiana, Emily Ann Hallum of Germany, and Ceili and Conor Manning of Santa Rosa, CA and Jacob Golden. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Phylis Hallum of Cherry Valley. Private burial April 29. Flowers to Mt. View Mortuary.
